IMC - Allow learners to make connections, to collaborate, negotiate and facilitate.
IMC - Learning is all about making connections. Highly effective teachers design learning experiences with and for learners that help them see connections across learning areas and between in class learning and the world beyond school. When students investigate problems, especially real world problems their wonderings, discoveries and solutions count, they contribute and they make a difference - learning with a purpose.
IMC leads into Inquiry. Start with Maker cards, see when skills and shift happens, allowing students to move naturally to investigate-inquire.
Books not necessarily used in one session - How do I feel? Aroha series. Each page is dealing with one emotion - acceptance, optimism.
Equipment - Resources folder. RainbowPebbles
Mark making in sand tray. Alongside feelings words. Drawing a mark to associate with feelings.
Tough tray - Kmart round table to define space. Small world play in a confined space. $5 microscopes from Kmart. - in folder. Kept where toys/science things are. Smart phone microscope.

adding language cards from the book onto trays.
3D characters. 3D stand to velcro characters on to. Play on the wall-attach characters with velcro to play with. Lego on the wall. Base plates onto a backboard. students can then attach lego to the plate which hangs on the wall.- Photo. Build - metal tins with lego base plate cut to fit and then a selection of lego inside. Limits amount of lego and enforces innovation with what they have. -photo

Problem solving - putting the learner in the driving seat. A few rules-guides to stop teachers solving the problems. Students draw the line where they want you to cut if they need you to cut something. developing perseverance and resilience. Can not blame adult when something doesn't work.

Create - digital tools. EVen just to capture and share the learning. build on it - take a video, capture with photos and create pic collage, slow-mo video. Use technology as another tool that becomes part of everyday use. a natural fit. Infusing throughout the learning.
