Starter Pack - can only contain things student knows or has been taught. For majority of students coming for the intervention. To be in the soundpack you must have assessed it, taught it or they know it.
Not used for year 0/1 students
Contains 21 consonants (white)
5 vowel picture cards (blue)
5 vowel cards (blue)
If a private practitioner you will need one pack for each student. Will teach articulation errors within soundpack.
Understanding stops and continuants in the alphabet will help you understand the student
Everything else stops. So be careful not to put a show to it. Remember commonality and consistency
Voiced and unvoiced (Put you hand on your throat, no vibration on unvoiced)
C (see), f, h,k, p, s, t, x
Soundpack is a good indication of where your student is at on the day.
With soundpack - work through, put cards to the left if incorrect, bring them back and revisit. If in a group they will listen to their peers and have an opportunity to learn from each other. Do everyday and always go back to the ones not known or incorrect (to the left) to complete.
